In it's native form collagen cannot be absorbed by the body, and so marine collagen is popular because it is hydrolysed to free the amino acids. Collagen is obtained from animal sources, including fish, but Vollagen® is suitable for vegans and vegetarians as it is 100% plant-origin from corn starch (non-GMO).
