The allure of traditional meat is a siren's call that can be hard to resist. For decades, I was a committed carnivore, indulging in the familiar flavors and textures of my favorite dishes. But as time went on, I began to feel a growing sense of unease with the impact of animal agriculture on our planet.

It started innocently enough - a late-night dinner conversation with friends about sustainability, or a quick scroll through social media highlighting the devastating effects of factory farming. And before long, my dietary preferences shifted irrevocably. Gone were the days of bacon and beef; in their place I devoured hearty bowls of plant-based goodness.

The transition wasn't easy - there were plenty of times when I craved the familiar taste of meat. But with each passing year, I grew more confident in my decision. The science was compelling: animal agriculture is a leading cause of greenhouse gas emissions and deforestation; it's also linked to water pollution and antibiotic resistance.

Today, I'm proud to say that I've made the switch to a vegan lifestyle. And as for Fleisch und seine Folgen - the consequences of our food choices? Well, let's just say that my taste buds are now more adventurous than ever.
